Use four or more backticks for the outer fence. The renderer treats the fence as "n or more backticks" where n is whatever you used to open it. Tildes (~~~) also work as an alternative fence.

Which languages does syntax highlighting support?

The live preview uses rehype-highlight, which supports about 190 languages out of the box including all common ones (js, ts, python, go, rust, sql, bash, json, yaml, html, css). Unknown identifiers fall back to plain monospace.

Why is the highlight color missing in my PDF?

The current print stylesheet uses a single color for code to keep PDF output predictable across browsers. Colored syntax highlighting in the PDF is on the roadmap; for now, if you need full color, export to HTML and print from there.

Can I copy code from the PDF?

Yes — PDFs preserve the text layer, so selecting and copying a code block from the exported file gives you the original characters. Line breaks are preserved.
